Rooted in the poetic original compositions of singer-songwriter Calla Louise, Gallop crafts delicately textured Americana lullabies that are both intimate and catchy. Calla played her first live show at Genghis Cohen in LA at age 15 with her mother (Singer/Actress Mare Winningham)—her first and most important musical influence. Born and raised in California, Calla moved to New York City in 2005, where she began collaborating with classically trained pianist Jesse Waldman. The two relocated to Portland, OR in 2009 where they began experimenting with more musicians, and formed Gallop. Gallop recently released a live album recorded in the summer of 2010 at the historic Sebastiani Theater in Sonoma, CA.
