BIOGRAPHY
Based out of Kyushuu the band R-18 originally had the name 'Catheline'. Mamo chose their first name, stating that he thought it would be a cool name for a band. However, in April of 2007 they decided to change from Catheline to R-18 and also underwent a style makeover.
Under the name Catheline they released one demo single, a coupling CD with CLUTCH and appeared on three omnibus DVDs. They had planned to release a mini-album entitled "Beauty's dead" on March 14th 2007, however, from January to April of 2007 vocalist Mamo had been suffering from hearing problems, and was unable to perform for a total of almost two months. At that time they also had to cancel a few lives and a tour. The mini-album was never released.
On April 25th 2007 the band released a single called Nihil Party, which was collection of most of the songs they had created as Catheline, minus Kuroneko. Technically, the band decided that Catheline had 'disbanded' on the 25th of March. So in a sense the renaming of the band was a complete rebirth for the band. New costumes, new journals, a new OHP. Shortly after changing their to R-18, they changed it once again to R-15 and under this name, they will hopefully continue to grow and succeed in the visual scene.
